Shot in Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea, this film provides a compelling view
of the impact of the Ebola outbreak on the lives of individuals.
From the remote village where the first victim was identified,
the film takes viewers through these three most affected countries.
Through a series of interconnected scenes, the movie explore the different
aspects of the outbreak as village chiefs, patients, survivors,
and aid workers talk about fear, stigma, rejection, and death
and the failure of the international community to respond quickly.
The film crew had unlimited access to the teams of Médecins Sans
Frontières and was therefore able to film some difficult moments normally hidden from
the cameras. In the final scene, viewers are taken on an emotional
rollercoaster to face the complex reality of those who survived Ebola.

In armed conflicts, civilians suffer the most – gunshots, bomb blasts, burns, rape, and other kinds of violence.
With most infrastructure demolished, including clinics and hospitals, the sick and wounded have no access to
any medical care. At the same time, conflict zones may sometimes put aid workers under threat
as the target of violence. This documentary, narrated by actor Daniel Day-Lewis, gives an insight into that dilemma,
as it provides a harrowing look at the challenges of delivering humanitarian aid in conflict zones.
Viewers will see how Médecins Sans Frontières works in Afghanistan, Somalia, and Democratic Republic of Congo,
where armed conflicts have been ongoing for years. Through interviews with patients and the main humanitarian actors,
the movie also looks at the confusion in roles with military and political actors and the compromises
taken to gain access to the danger zone.
