PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Main aim is to drive the development of the corporate fundraising and partnerships program in order to increase the level of the income from high value funding streams, mainly from corporate and foundations. The Philanthropy and partnerships manager creates new philanthropy fundraising opportunities in order to enlarge the philanthropy and partnerships portfolio, develops and builds long lasting relationships with existing and prospective foundations, and corporations. Focusing on an engaging case for support and ensuring an excellent standard of cultivation and stewardship with the participation of the Philanthropy Stewardship & Cultivation Officer in the donor communication and retention aspect of the pillar. Be a key contributor in the development of corporate philanthropy and partnerships strategies and plans for MSFK,
- Planning and implementing all activities related to the corporate philanthropy and partnerships strategies to meet KPIs and grow the size of the philanthropy donor base in compliance with budget allocations,
- In line with MSF Korea strategic plan, increase MSF K profile to corporate philanthropy and partnerships prospects, especially through direct representation externally,
- Under the supervision of the Fundraising Director researches and develops tactics to meet targets identified and support the MSFK overall Fundraising Plan of Action,
- Reports on progress of corporate philanthropy and partnerships activities to the Fundraising Director on a timely basis and provides solutions as needed,
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyses and Planning
- Under the supervision of the Fundraising Director, is a key contributor in the development of the corporate philanthropy and partnerships strategies, proposes plans for development, and creates action plans and fully assumes their implementation,
- Ensures proper implementation of annual corporate philanthropy and partnerships activities based on results analyses, with consideration of expected overall revenue and expenditures, including compliance with MSF and Korean practices and legal standards,
- Ensures collaboration with relevant stakeholders in MSFK to ensure their engagement in corporate philanthropy and partnerships activities to maximize the effectiveness of the program,
- Align corporate philanthropy and partnerships activities with all fundraising activities, and support each other
- Ensures precise prospect, cultivation, and stewardship plans are in place in order to keep the retention of foundations and corporations in the long run,
- Researches, proposes, and implements new, tailor made corporate philanthropy and partnerships tactics to increase income and awareness, optimize KPIs related to corporate philanthropy and partnerships plan and contribute to MSF Korea, including risk assessment,
- Plan and implement corrective actions if needed.
- Philanthropy program management
- Responsible for the schedule of implementation of all corporate philanthropy and partnerships activities,
- Under the supervision of the Fundraising Director, manage and monitor the execution of corporate philanthropy and partnerships budget to ensure that expenditures are in compliance with the allocated budget and in accordance with the plan of action and best practices,
- Manage relationships and contracting of suppliers, supervises the suppliers' provision,
- Contributes to the development of new corporate philanthropy and partnerships content that is consistent with MSF international standards.
- Monitoring and Reporting
- Provides a comprehensive monthly report to the Fundraising Director including in-depth analyses of corporate philanthropy and partnerships activities and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs),
- Monitors the performance of all corporate philanthropy and partnerships activities and provides updates and recommendations to the Fundraising Director in a timely manner,
- Monitors up-to-date corporate philanthropy and partnerships best practices within the MSF movement, and in Korea and the wider industry and adopt/adjust MSF Korea practices accordingly,
- Monitors and researches the Korean market on corporate fundraising and partnerships, a culture of giving, networking, and strategic partnerships opportunities.
- Departmental and Other
- Develop a network of support from MSF movement,
- As an active member participates in MSF relevant Working Group and attends the relevant working group meeting abroad when approved by FR Director,
- Provides constructive input to department related activities (e.g. team meetings, strategic planning, cross-departmental support activities),
- Willingness to adjust work schedule to suit the needs of the Fundraising responsibilities. This may include working flexible hours and providing support to other roles when required (networking, MSFK events, donor events, etc).
- Undertake such other activities as may be required and approved by the Fundraising Director.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Essential Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree,
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the development of corporate partnerships and/or solution selling, or major giving,
- Solid experience in marketing, PR, strategic planning and project management,
- Strong commitment to MSF’s values and principles,
- Excellent verbal and written skills: ability to engage donors, make a case for support and build rapport easily, excellent presentation skills,
- Excellent numeracy skills including experience of financial planning, budgeting, and target setting and presenting detailed financial information,
- Excellent face to face, interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills, sophisticated communication skills,
- Professional, self-assured manner, displaying emotional intelligence, credibility, gravitas to inspire confidence in high net-worth donors and other funders,
- Organized and methodical approach to planning and delivering against a varied workload,
- Knowledge of Korean market and trends,
- Multi-tasking: ability to handle several tasks simultaneously, managing multiple projects at once working to deadlines and find efficient ways to carry out repetitive tasks,
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team,
- Fluent in written and spoken Korean and English.
- Desirable Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of MSF and its work,
- Ability to protect the mission, goals and values of the organization,
- Experience and/or extensive understanding of Fundraising as a discipline.
