<PURPOSE OF THE POSITION>

Reaching individual through mass marketing and inspiring them to become MSF donors is the main responsibility of the Acquisition Team and remains a strategic priority of the Fundraising Department. The Manager oversees various acquisition activities of the team as well as researches and develops new tools and methods. The manager supervises the operations and results of various acquisition programs and reports it to the Fundraising Director on a timely basis.

  1. Be a key contributor in the development of strategies and plans for all aspects of Fundraising acquisition for MSF Korea with creating innovative new-growth initiatives,
  2. Oversees various activities related to the non-digital acquisition of individual donors, such as F2F and DRTV, in order to meet KPIs, including the growth of the donor base, and in compliance with budget allocation,
  3. Researches and develops tactics under the supervision of the Fundraising Director to meet targets identified and support the MSFK overall Fundraising Plan of Action,
  4. Reports on progress of non-digital acquisition (F2F, DRTV) activity to the Fundraising Director on a timely basis and provides solutions as needed,
  5. Supports, supervises and evaluates all aspects of professional performance of staff involved in acquisition team.

 

<MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES>

  1. Analyses and Planning
  • Under the supervision of the Fundraising Director, is a key contributor in the development of the strategy, proposes plans for development and propose plan of action for non-digital acquisition activities, and fully assumes their implementation,
  • Analyze the non-digital acquisition market as well as the fundraising trends and propose relevant investments or tactics to reach the global objective define in the annual plan of action and business plan
  • Adjust the activities based on market analysis and/or opportunities
  • Ensures proper implementation of annual non-digital acquisition activities for individual donors based on results analyses, with consideration of expected overall revenue and expenditures, including compliance with MSF and Korean practices and legal standards,
  • Ensures precise campaign plans for all non-digital acquisition activities,
  • In close collaboration with the Digital Fundraising Manager, coordinates planning and ensures the complementarity of the various acquisition activities to digital acquisition activities,
  • Researches, proposes and develops new acquisition mechanisms and potential acquisition channels that will optimize KPIs related to fundraising plan and keep MSF Korea at the forefront of developments in non-digital acquisition, including risk assessment,
  • Initiates and develops new mass acquisition programs and contributes to acquisition channel expansion,
  • Prepares, analyzes, and manages income forecasts through statistical analysis of activities,
  • Ensures continual improvements of the channel efficiency and quality,
  • Plans, develops acquisition systems or platforms in adherence with productivity improvement objectives such as seamless implementation of digital sign-up for F2F channel,
  • Plan and implement corrective actions if needed.

 

  1. Supervising implementation of plans
  • Supervises the schedule of implementation of various acquisition campaigns and ensures the complementarity to digital acquisition activities,
  • Manages contracts, evaluation, negotiation, and supervises the performance of external agencies, and follows up to ensure that all contractual agreements and payments are well managed,
  • Manages and supervises the acquisition channel productivity and performances provided by external agencies in accordance with established internal policy (PIPA, Code of Conduct, etc) to assure adherence as well as completeness in business sustainability,
  • Supervises and contributes to the development of new marketing materials that are consistent with MSF international standards,
  • Under supervision of Fundraising Director, manages and monitors the execution of the budget for various acquisition activities and programs to ensure that expenditures are in compliance with the allocated budget and in accordance with the plan of action and best practices.

 

  1. Monitoring and Reporting
  • Provides a comprehensive monthly report to the Fundraising Director including an in depth analyses of non-digital acquisition activities and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs),
  • Monitors the performance of various non-digital acquisition campaigns and activities and provides updates and recommendations to the Fundraising Director in a timely manner,
  • Monitors up-to-date non-digital acquisition best practices both in MSF movement and in Korea , and adopt/adjust MSF Korea practices accordingly.

 

  1. People management
  • Sets individual performance objectives, does performance appraisals, and ensures that staff is accountable to internal MSFK policy,
  • Interviews, hires, trains and coaches new employees under his/her supervision,
  • Ensures personal and professional development by proposing training when necessary,
  • Provides mentorship to Acquisition team,
  • Ensures that each member of the Acquisition team is tracking and monitoring results of individual caseload,
  • Supervises and monitors the full completion of duties and determines priorities.

 

  1. Departmental and Other
  • As an active member participates in MSF relevant Working Group and attends the relevant working group meeting abroad when approved by FR Director,
  • Provide constructive input to department related activities (e.g. team meetings, strategic planning, cross-departmental support activities)
  • Willingness to adjust your work schedule to suit the needs of the Fundraising responsibilities. This may include working flexible hours and providing support to other roles when required (training, MSFK events, evening teleconferences with related platforms).
  • Undertake such other activities as may be required and approved by the Fundraising Director.

 

<QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS>

Essential skills and experience

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in NGO and or corporation,
  • Experience and/or understanding of Fundraising as a discipline,
  • Strong commitment to MSF’s humanitarian aid work,
  • Strong planning and organization skills, with good attention to detail,
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and presentation skills,
  • Analytical skills: ability to interpret and translate data into actionable steps,
  • Multi-tasking: ability to handle several tasks simultaneously, managing multiple projects at once working to deadlines and find efficient ways to carry out repetitive tasks,
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team,
  • Fluent in written and spoken Korean and English.

 

Desirable skills and experience

  • Project management experience,
  • Knowledge of MSF and its work,
  • Tertiary level qualifications in marketing (or similar),
  • Experience in existing donor marketing, donor service or CRM,
  • Experience in strategic development planning and fundraising databases,
  • Experience in managing people,
  • Proven ability to negotiate with subcontractors
