[PURPOSE OF THE POSITION]

Under the direction of the Head of Digital, the Digital Communications Officer will develop and implement MSF Korea’s overall digital presence and communications on web, mobile, social media, and other digital platforms in order to increase MSF’s visibility, acceptance, and leverage opportunities among the Korean public and target audiences.
S/he works in close collaboration with external partners or agencies, as well as other staff in MSF Korea, including the Digital Fundraising Team and Content team.

 

[MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES]

ONLINE AWARENESS-RAISING AND ENGAGEMENT

  • In close collaboration with Content team, curate and develop content (articles, photos, video, audio, graphics) for publication on MSF Korea’s digital platforms on a daily basis.
  • Develop and lead digital campaigns for awareness raising in collaboration with Communications Department.
  • Develop, execute and monitor digital advertising budget for awareness-raising campaigns.
  • Follow latest digital trends and identify digital companies, influencers, and innovators in Korea.


SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNEL & CONTENT MANAGEMENT

  • Working with other team members in the digital Unit, maintain and develop MSF Korea’s digital platforms – web, mobile, and social media.
  • Increase MSF Korea’s social media followers & subscribers.
  • Develop & Manage Owned Social Media Channel Contents (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn & Blog)
  • Monitor online MSF mentions, discussions, and developments, and triage any digital communications emergencies.
  • Coordinate MSF Korea’s social media activities, in collaboration with other departments
  • Monitor on customer engagement on Social contents
  • Connect and respond to social communities 
  • Build & Develop social influencer/external agent relationships
  • Provide data-driven insights from SNS marketing and contents
  • Keep up to date social media trends

DIGITAL PLATFORMS

  • Oversee and maintain all MSF Korea digital platforms – web, mobile, and social media
  • Coordinate the architecture, functionality, maintenance, and improvement of the MSF Korea website and mobile site (www.msf.or.kr), including developing new digital landing pages when needed with external digital agencies or consultants as needed (e.g., developers, designers, vendors, server/hosting companies, etc).
  • Support to plan and execute website renewal project when necessary.
  • Coordinate with IT vendor to address technical issues with the website such a fixing bugs and ensuring security of MSF Korea’s digital platforms and information and maintaining functionality and support of Content Management System (CMS), including optimizing content updates and site administration (eg, user management, permissions, clean URLs).

QUALITY CONTROL

  • Check and safeguard that the messages and tone of digitally communicated content are correct and in line with MSF’s core principles, communications policies, editorial style, institutional identity, and field operational priorities.
  • Support and ensure the quality of the digital content published by all MSF Korea departments.

 

[QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUESTMENTS]

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in digital communications or marketing, including web, mobile, and social media
  • Extremely strong computer literacy
  • Experience in digital content development and editing
  • Knowledge and experience in website maintenance
  • Ability to work independently and handle a large volume of work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to react quickly and efficiently, including under time, public, and internal pressure
  • Ability to carry out projects from conceptual stage to launch in time-bound fashion
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills, with attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills, work well within a diverse team, and has a creative, proactive, and flexible personality
  • Genuine commitment to MSF’s humanitarian principles
  • English and Korean language fluency

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Strong visual sense and ability to contribute to digital design and user interface
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite,HTML, DAM, Javascript/ Flash/ PHP/ MySQL/ PostgreSQL; Mobile First Design and Responsive Web Design; Google Analytics; Drupal CMS; server hosting
  • Experience working with a NGO or non-profit organization
  • Knowledge and interest in humanitarian issues and international affairs
